GTA University Centre Announces CII Accreditation for Pioneering Insurance Management Courses

The prestigious Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has officially accredited the innovative Certificate and Diploma in International Insurance Management, offered by GTA University Centre in partnership with the Guernsey International Insurance Association (GIIA) and Sagacious Group.

CII accreditation recognises these programmes as delivering high-quality CPD learning content and an effective learning experience. This accreditation marks a significant milestone for the courses, tailored specifically to enhance expertise within the Guernsey international insurance sector.

The Guernsey Certificate in International Insurance Management, a six-month programme, provides a robust foundation in the Guernsey international insurance landscape, covering essential topics from Captives to Compliance and Governance. Designed for both newcomers and seasoned professionals, the certificate course ensures a thorough understanding of key operational facets.

The Guernsey Diploma in International Insurance Management is a three-month, advanced-level programme requiring prior completion of the Certificate. It culminates in a 5,000-word dissertation, allowing participants to showcase deep research and original thought on a variety of critical industry topics. Areas of study include Captives, Guernsey Insurance Law, and more, providing a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s intricacies.

Both courses are now aligned with CII’s rigorous CPD accreditation standards, enhancing their prestige and the professional standing of their participants. Moreover, through the Professional Map benchmarking exercise, the GIIA can promote these learning programmes as effectively supporting individuals in attaining competency in the standards outlined in the Professional Map. This alignment underscores the practical relevance and industry-specific focus of the programmes, helping professionals progress their knowledge and careers, with the opportunity to claim Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.

“We are thrilled to receive CII accreditation for these programmes,” said Simon Le Tocq, CEO of the GTA University Centre. “This accreditation not only reflects the quality and depth of the courses but also reinforces our commitment to developing top-tier talent in the insurance industry.”

This accreditation serves as a beacon for professionals aiming to elevate their expertise and positions the GTA University Centre, along with its partners GIIA and Sagacious Group, at the forefront of insurance education globally.

Nick Wild, Honorary Secretary of Sagacious Group, said “This is recognition, not only of the quality of the course material that GIIA and Sagacious members voluntarily contributed but also the considerable expertise and experience that was applied in the creation of this course.”

Adele Gale, Chair of GIIA, said “The CII is recognised globally as an institution of excellence in all matters relating to education in the insurance sector. Their Accreditation of this course is the result of the dedication and close cooperation of GIIA, GTA University Centre and the Sagacious Group with the CII. We are extremely proud of this accreditation. The course provides, not only an amazing platform for the education of practitioners in Guernsey but a comprehensive and free resource to all interested in risk financing techniques.”
