GTA hosts MOE Foundation certified coach training

This week we have hosted the first 3 days of the 5-day MOE (Ministry of Entrepreneurship) certified coach training course. The course supports delegates to clarify their life’s purpose and how they can achieve it through improved communication skills and building better relationships. Set up in 2012, the MOE Foundation is a registered charity focused on providing a supportive network, training, development, coaching, mentoring and leadership/entrepreneurial initiatives to enable people to make the best of their situation. They operate in Guernsey, London, Manchester, and Tanzania currently. Here at the GTA we were so inspired by the MOE Foundation’s work that we are providing free use of our facilities for the duration of the 5-day course along with sponsoring the refreshments and catering. The course is recognised by Association for Coaching and gives delegates the opportunity to develop themselves through using practical coaching skills, including:

  • Listening
  • Questioning
  • Clarifying, reflecting
  • GROW coaching model
  • Self-limiting beliefs
  • Coaching supervision
  • Coaching practice

Delegates of this course describe it as a ‘breakthrough’ experience that reveals to them where they can make positive changes in themselves. They are invited to share this new found awareness with their families, friends, colleagues, and wider community to widen the positive impact of the training they’ve received. Following completion of the 5-day course, the delegates graduate to receive 1 year’s free membership of the Association for Coaching. MOE Foundation’s leadership coach, Tony Phillips, facilitates the training course. Here he outlines how workplaces benefit by developing their members of staff via MOE Foundation coaching/mentoring:

‘We’ve created efficiencies through technology, process improvement, outsourcing and targeted marketing. The main area that is still relatively untouched within most organisations is the vast untapped wealth of human potential. Too many workplaces encourage their people to put on their work masks and leave the rest of themselves at the door, which results in employees bringing more of their potential to activities and interests outside work. In an increasingly competitive marketplace it makes sense to unlock more of everyone’s potential in pursuit of the organisation’s business goals.’
