The ICA Advanced Certificate in Regulatory Compliance gives you the opportunity not only to learn more about how to be compliant but also why it is a real benefit, both to your organisation and industry as a whole.

Designed for those looking to begin a career in compliance as well as those with a few years’ experience. Study online at your own pace and attend two workshops or virtual classrooms. Gain an internationally recognised qualification as well as actionable, practical knowledge to boost your career.
Course Content
Topics to be covered include:
- Understanding the Regulatory Environment
- International Regulation
- Compliance in Practice
- Managing the Risk of Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Proliferation Financing
- Financial Crime Prevention
The conduct of firms and the behaviour of senior management is a key topic and is interwoven throughout the course units.
This course is offered by International Compliance Association Commercial Services (ICA’s approved training provider).During the restrictions imposed by the Covid19 pandemic ICA have made significant investments in technology and resources to create a new student experience – a blend of self-study, instructor-led virtual classrooms, dynamic discussions around live scenarios, topical reviews of industry events and bite-size videos. All designed to help you get the most out of the course, increase your chances of success and take away the practical knowledge you need to think differently and preform better in your role.
- 6 month course assessed by a timed, online scenario-based assessment and a research-based assignment
- A mixture of guided online study and
participation in five live sessions:
- ‘Getting started’ session
- Virtual classroom
- 1 x immersive learning scenario (putting you at the centre of a story) delivered through award-winning, interactive BARCO technology
- Group tutorial (a chance to discuss elements of the course in more depth)
- Assessment preparation session
- Videos covering the latest industry developments and case studies
- Access to the ICA Learning Hub packed with additional insight and resources
- Proactive support throughout the course to help you stay on track
It is recommended that you study 6-8 hours per week over the six month period.

Course Benefits

- Those employees with management responsibility for compliance employees
- Any person who wishes to acquire an understanding of fundamental regulatory compliance principles and how businesses can comply with them
Assessment
You will be assessed by means of a one-hour, question-based exam at the end of the course, testing your knowledge and understanding through applied scenario questions that span the entire syllabus. You will then be required to complete one research-based, written assignment to demonstrate a holistic understanding and the ability to practically apply what you have learned.
ICA qualifications, where stated, are awarded in association with Alliance Manchester Business School, the University of Manchester.
Prerequisites
The Advanced Certificate is open to anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in the discipline. The content of the course requires you to possess a sound educational background and good written English skills.
In order to study any ICA qualification you need to be a member of the ICA. If you’re not currently a member of the ICA, membership will be added to your basket during checkout.
The ICA has five different levels of individual membership. Whether you are just starting out in your career, already hold an ICA qualification or are an experienced practitioner, there is a level appropriate for you and this will be activated at the same time as your course commences.
