Course Overview

Gilly, Sally and Justin will host an interactive session which will look at the theoretical case for consideration of sustainable outcomes in the exercising of fiduciary duties as well as what steps fiduciaries need to consider in practice. Drawing on their legal, regulatory and sustainable investing advisory expertise this trio will bring to life a critically important topic.

  • Sally Rochester

    Sally Rochester - I am a Director of Mourant Consulting with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Previously I was a Director at a Big 4 professional services firm where I lead the Guernsey advisory team and the risk and regulatory team, with a focus on sustainability, across Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Gibraltar. I have developed my regulatory expertise over the last decade through delivering engagements both for clients and local regulators and more recently held the role of Executive Director of Supervision for a local regulator. This broad base of risk management and regulatory expertise means I am well placed to support clients with their risk and regulatory strategies. I am currently studying for a Masters in Sustainable Leadership at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership.

  • Gilly Kennedy-Smith

    Gilly Kennedy-Smith – I am a Partner and [Guernsey] Advocate at Mourant Ozannes (Guernsey) LLP, where I head up the Guernsey Private Client team. I have over 17 years of both on-shore and off-shore experience working with trustees, individuals, family offices and high net worth clients, advising them on structuring, duties, succession, capacity and governance of wealth. My work often involves working with advisors in other jurisdictions my our clients and their families are affected by many different countries and their tax and legal regimes. I am a qualified tax technician (ATT) and I am also a TEP (STEP).

  • Justin Sykes

    Justin Sykes - I am Managing Director and Founder of Innovest Advisory, a boutique sustainable and impact investment advisory practice which provides specialist consulting services to private markets fund managers, private asset allocators and corporate venture funds. Our 20+ clients have more than $2.5b allocated to sustainable and impact investment strategies. I have over 20 years experience in supporting the design and deployment of private capital vechicles to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges. My career history has included designing and implementing large-scale impact investment solutions for Youth Business International (patron HRH Prince of Wales), the United Nations Youth Employment Network (Chair UN Sec. Gen. Kofi Annan) and Silatech Foundation (Chair former First Lady of Qatar). I also hold a number of non-executive director and board advisory roles with impact investment vehicles focussed on investing into emerging markets.
