Course Overview
This course is intended as additional anti-financial crime training for “Board and senior management” under the GFSC Handbook on Countering Financial Crime and Terrorist Financing.It supplements the Handbook and Schedule 3 and Reporting Requirements courses and focusses on senior management responsibilities for Business Risk Assessments, policies, procedures and controls, and other governance responsibilities.
It is written specifically for the senior management of businesses which need to comply with the Guernsey Handbook and Schedule 3.It is relevant for licensed financial services businesses and for professional firms registered as prescribed businesses.
Course Content
This course will cover:
- Corporate governance
- Business Risk Assessments
- Risk Appetite Statements
- Policies, procedures, and controls
- Combatting proliferation and proliferation financing of weapons of mass destruction
- Guernsey’s legal AML/CFT framework for senior management.
There is a downloadable Relevant Laws summary for easy reference.
Course Benefits
The course focusses on senior management responsibilities and what those mean in practice.
It includes examples of different approaches to BRAs and defining and recording risk appetite along with a discussion of differences between policies, procedures and controls, how they work and how senior management can review their effectiveness.
