Last week, we introduced our existing IIP customers to 6th Generation, the new version of Investors in People framework. It was great to see our customers taking time out of their busy schedule to come along and learn more. The workshop gave the different companies the opportunity to reflect on their own businesses and how they would compare to the new framework.
Of course the customers who attended the day are already familiar with Investors in People, but we received some great feedback about the day.
“I think the new standard is exciting, it’s a great opportunity for a refresh of how we’re doing and where we are headed”
“I thought the workshop was great – really useful to listen to how other organizations tackle continuous improvement “
“The emphasis/reminder that investing in people leads to “outperforming” is important for everyone across the business to know”
Companies will often say I do not need to do Investors in People it is too much work. Yet it really is a lot simpler than you think. So it was refreshing to work with successful Guernsey businesses which have embraced the ethos. After all, why would a business not want to benchmark its organisation to identify its development areas? Investors in People is more than just looking at people management, it is about investing in your business to achieve real success.
So many times businesses do not necessarily step back and think “How are we doing?” and “What are we striving for?” So it was a great to see so many of our customers taking a fresh look at their business to understand the new standard.
If you would like to find out more about Investors in People, and find out what is involved why not come along to our Introduction to Investors in People event on the 07 December Engaging with Investors in People
