Course Overview
The management of client assets is a key facet of the role of a fiduciary in the Guernsey financial services sector and the importance of understanding the concepts and responsibilities of managing such assets is one which shouldn’t be underestimated.
This session builds your knowledge of investment practice and concepts showing how that knowledge can be utilised in achieving financial objectives.
Course Content
This course will cover:
- Investment Concepts such as Total Return, Risk/Reward, mitigation of risk
- The Asset Classes most commonly used and their profiles
Types of investing; Direct or through Funds - The difference between open ended and closed ended funds, their advantages and disadvantages
- Active vs Passive investing
- Building a portfolio - setting objectives and assessing risks
- Benchmarking
- Monitoring portfolio throughout lifetime.
