Course Overview
As regulatory expectations increase, knowing your customer is essential. This introductory level 2 qualification provides a foundation knowledge of core ‘know your customer’ (KYC) and ‘customer due diligence’ (CDD) concepts, an introduction to CDD frameworks and an overview of the practical components of working within the KYC environment.
Course Content
The course is designed for those who wish to understand the threat and learn to mitigate the risk in the CDD process
You will study this course in your own time and at your own pace, and you have up to 2 months to complete it.
You will learn:
- CDD - why bother?
- The risk-based approach to CDD
- Key CDD concepts
- Core KYC frameworks
- What it's like working in KYC

You will learn about the nature, importance and context of CDD obligations; the regulatory framework and international developments around CDD; the CDD process and outcomes; and taking a practical, risk-based approach to CDD.
Assessment
At the end of the course you will be assessed by means of a one hour multiple choice exam that is taken online.
ICA qualifications, where stated, are awarded in association with Alliance Manchester Business School, the University of Manchester.
Prerequisites
The content of the course requires you to possess a sound educational background and good written English skills.
In order to study any ICA qualification you need to be a member of the ICA. The fee for ICA Affiliate Membership for one year is £121 payable to ICA and includes your assessment and access to invaluable knowledge resources that will help with your course as well as many other member benefits and services. You can apply for membership at the same time as you enrol for a course.
