Course Overview

This half-day course will provide non-technical business professionals with a comprehensive introduction to the world of artificial intelligence (AI). Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how AI has evolved, the critical role of hardware advancements, the importance of data and self-learning algorithms, and an overview of the leading AI providers in the industry.

Course Content

Defining intelligence:

  • Explore the concept of intelligence, both organic (natural) and artificial to understand how AI compares and contrasts with human cognitive abilities

The evolution of AI:

  • Learn about the history of AI from early rule-based systems to modern machine learning and deep learning models. Understand where AI stands today and where it is heading in the future

The role of hardware in AI development:

  • Discover how advancements in hardware from CPUs (Central Processing Unit) and GPUs (Graphic Processing Unit) to specialised AI hardware like TPUs (Tensor Processing Unit), have driven the growth and power of AI

AI algorithms and data:

  • Understand how AI algorithms process vast amounts of data to learn and improve over time. Explore machine learning, deep learning, and the significance of big data in AI’s development. Learn how conceptually LLM’s work (Large Language Models)

The leading AI providers:

  • Get an overview of the major AI providers, including Google, Microsoft, AWS, IBM, and OpenAI. Learn how to compare their offerings and choose the right provider for your business needs

Insight:

  • Practical demonstration of an AI being used to solve a practical business problem.
