This free lunchtime seminar will provide insight into the role and responsibilities of an Investment Company NED.
Investment companies are unique listed investment fund vehicles often investing in frontier markets. This session will give an overview of investment companies, the sector within the Channel Islands, and what being an investment company NED involves including some of the key challenges and areas which are different from other NED roles.
The Association of Investment Companies (AIC – www.theaic.co.uk) represents the investment company sector – the companies themselves are the members. The total sector is some 380 companies with some £260bn of assets.
There are currently just over 350 members listed on the LSE, AIM and SFM, and some 68 of these are domiciled in Guernsey. Guernsey and Jersey (which has 16 members) together represent 24% of the membership.
